Few things could bond strangers faster than sharing tales regarding the bosses they have tolerated over their careers - the boss who shouted without any reason, the boss who fired through other workers launches and the boss who liked to take of his smelly shoes as well fill the work place with their stink. For every nightmare boss, there is an ideal boss who credited you fund to get your car or provided a friendly environment whenever you needed to talk. Everybody wants a fun boss, but the problem is that when you've a good one, it could seem like she or he is more of a mate than a boss. No matter how kind, ruthless, boring, unpredictable, funny, insightful or maddening your boss might be that individual is still the one who signs your pay checks, and it could make the relationship hard to steer. Whether you toil in an atmosphere that is conservative and formal or one that is laid back and casual, every employee and boss relationship could lead to complex circumstances that require a little skill.

Do I have to offer my boss a gift during holidays or on his birthday?

The answer is definitely no. You are not supposed to offer your employer a gift. Even if your employer is a good person and you really wish to articulate your expressed affection. It is not proper; it looks like you are trying to buy preference. In fact, when certain workers offer gifts, it could give other workers the impression that they are being debarred and could make those who cannot afford a gift feel capable. Whether it is Christmas, Boss day or a birthday, the only time it is perfect to offer a boss a gift is when the whole department or team pitches for a group gift. However, if you are looking to send a personal token, then make it an attentive card and be tactful about giving it.

Should you friend your boss on Facebook?

These days, everyone is on the facebook, especially companies. In many workplaces, people also like to keep their personal life separate, both offline and online. If you toil in an informal office where people connect with others online regularly, it is okay to comprise your manager as a Facebook friend, because it might present exciting networking opportunities for you. However, if you've salacious content or inappropriate content in your profile, you will probably wish to eliminate such digital dirt before you accept or extend an invitation. You might be sociable with your manager, but it is still improbable that you would wish him to see pictures of your debaucheries weekends, so keep political screeds, party pics and rants to a minimum. If your manager lengthen an invitation that you are unwilling to accept, then just explain that you would rather keep your private life to yourself.
