If you live in Wisconsin, choosing Milwaukee jobs doesn't have to be difficult, especially if you know where to look. Likely you have already searched for various Milwaukee career paths in newspaper ads and different job boards online. If you aren't too picky and are just looking for something to pay your bills, you should have no problem with finding work that is available. Some positions that you may find may be required to have experience.

Restaurant Milwaukee Jobs

If you are looking around for your very first job in Milwaukee, you can easily find work in various restaurants. They hire ages from the teens all the way up to the elderly. They are always looking for waitresses, dishwashers and cooks. This is a great place to begin working to gain experience in the work field and can lead to better Milwaukee careers like becoming a professional chef, or you could even end up owning your own business if you get the right education. Likely you'll need an MBA to help you get the skills needed to run any type of business.

In order to become a chef, you will need to obtain training from a culinary arts school. You can find some throughout Wisconsin that you can attend. Depending on the type of degree you obtain will determine what you can do with it. You could end up working as a chef, head chef or restaurant owner. You can also earn your way up in the field by getting lots of experience in high end restaurants and proving yourself. For instance, you can begin working in a local Italian restaurant where you will be cooking different entrees. Later you could possibly end up working in a French restaurant that is five stars, making more money. When you work for a long time within one restaurant and prove you are worthy, you could end up becoming a head chef. Becoming a manager of a restaurant also takes time. You always have the option of getting an education to jump right into higher end positions or waiting it out and getting experience to work your way up to the top.

Health Care

Just like with various states throughout the United States, health care jobs in Milwaukee are in demand. You can find various types of positions available in this field. If you're looking for something that is entry level and doesn't require a lot of training, consider becoming a certified nursing assistant or phlebotomist. Both have training programs that last between a few months to about a year. As a phlebotomist, you would be required to draw blood from patients to be used for testing. You will work under a physician or registered nurse. As a certified nursing assistant, you would also be required to work under the guidance of an RN. Some hospitals and medical facilities offer training in both of these fields, so make sure to check around the Milwaukee area. You can also search for nursing schools or community colleges that offer these programs. Make sure any program you study in is accredited.

Another option you have is to work as a physical therapist or massage therapist. Both are great Milwaukee careers to get into. They don't require too much training and offer great pay. As a physical therapist, you would be required to help patients that have physical disabilities that were caused by either an accident or illness. Your job would be to perform physical exercises with them that will allow them to slowly gain back physical mobility, thus leading them to independent lifestyles. Some of the positions you can hold in this industry include working with sports teams, elderly, children and patients that have developmental problems. As a massage therapist, you will be required to help your clients relax with the use of different types of massages like Swedish, deep tissue, Asian techniques and a variety of others. To become a massage therapist, you will have to complete about 500 hours of training in the field and obtain hands on training. To become a physical therapist, you will have to obtain a degree in physical therapy. You can go for an associate's degree or go as high as to get a doctoral degree.

Information Technology

Choosing Milwaukee jobs can also lead you into the information technology field, also known as IT. You can get a degree in this industry in a variety of fields. For instance, you can study in network security, where you will be protecting networks from security risks and threats like hackers. You can obtain an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree in the industry.
