Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Employment and Labor Lawyer to join its practice in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will have experience in California employment litigation advice and counseling, and will be responsible for a variety of legal tasks within the employment and labor law sector.

Duties

• Perform legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
• Attend court appearances and draft and respond to discovery and meet and confer letters.
• Defend individual and class action wage and hour and PAGA claims in court and arbitration.
• Respond to government investigations and inquiries.
• Draft and review employment and severance agreements, policies, and Employee Handbooks.

Requirements

• 3 to 4 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Strong background in California employment litigation advice and counseling.
• Active member in good standing of the California bar or eligible to waive into the bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• California Bar membership.
