A law firm seeks an Appellate Attorney to join their team in New York, NY. This full-time, on-site position involves handling legal research, motion practice, and appellate work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for legal writing, analysis, and strategy.

Duties

• Write affirmative summary judgment motions on labor law, motor vehicle accident, and premises cases.
• Oppose summary judgment motions on labor law, motor vehicle accident, and premises cases.
• Write and oppose motions in limine.
• Handle all aspects of the firm's appellate practice.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys on case strategy and issue development.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on liability, damages, and procedural issues.
• Maintain positive and professional relations with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of legal writing and motion practice experience.
• Admitted to practice in NY.
• Strong background in legal research and brief writing.
• Experience with New York motion practice required; appellate experience preferred.
• Prior personal injury or civil litigation experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in NY.
