Duties:

• Handle family law matters with emphasis on mediation; litigation experience is a plus

• Conduct in-depth legal research and craft complex legal memoranda, motions, and briefs

• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence

• Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and mediations

• Utilize firm-generated leads and develop independent referral relationships

• Engage in strategic marketing and visibility efforts, including attending networking functions

• Oversee and support consults and new client onboarding to meet billing and collections goals

• Maintain timely and accurate case documentation, including billing and trust management

• Ensure effective collaboration with paralegals and administrative staff

• Participate in digital and in-person brand-building (blogs, social media, community engagement)

• Proactively manage caseloads to meet target billable hours (average 30 hours per week)

• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and professional development initiatives

• Perform additional legal responsibilities as may arise within the scope of family law practice

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law or similar civil litigation work

• Demonstrated ability to manage full case lifecycles with minimal oversight

• Strong verbal advocacy and written communication skills

• Ability to build and maintain client relationships with empathy and professionalism

• Willingness to engage in business development activities quarterly

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Washington or eligible for reciprocal admission

Skills:

• Proficient in case management software and modern legal research platforms

• Comfortable with marketing, client intake strategy, and networking engagement

• Skilled in balancing billable responsibilities with firm-wide contributions

• Organizational aptitude for document handling, calendar management, and task prioritization

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with attorneys and legal support personnel
