Business Immigration Associate Attorney

A law firm in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced Business Immigration Associate Attorney to join their team. Duties:

• Develop an expert-level understanding of client base, supported industries, and firm’s practice areas.
• Independently oversee and manage assignments with minimal supervision, positioning as a senior member of the client team.
• Utilize legal precedents to address specific client situations and develop creative solutions.
• Research complex technical immigration issues and formulate solutions, including documentation completion.
• Independently execute case preparation, filing, and develop strategies for complex matters.
• Articulate relatively complex issues to various audiences.
• Understand the business strategy of the practice area and the firm.
• Build, strengthen, and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders.
• Proactively communicate with clients, providing precise, efficient, and organized responses.
• Directly or indirectly supervise junior Associates and provide mentoring and coaching.
• Ensure adherence to firm protocols regarding file maintenance, record-keeping, and technology use.
• Meet individual and team productivity goals and identify opportunities for cross-selling or billing for additional services.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes.
• Participate in marketing and business development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with firm standards, policies, and regulations.
• Engage, collaborate, and share knowledge with teams locally, regionally, and firm-wide.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

• U.S. JD or LLM required.
• Member of a US State bar or Washington DC Bar association.
• Exceptional working knowledge and understanding of immigration law.
• Prior team management experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Dedication to exceptional client service.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

Education and Certifications:

• U.S. JD or LLM required.
• Member of a US State Bar or Washington DC Bar association.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience at the Associate level.
