Associate Attorney needed for Grand Rapids office

A law firm in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The successful candidate must be licensed in the state of Michigan and will join a dynamic team to handle a variety of legal matters.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts
• Assist in case preparation for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
• Participate in client meetings and consultations
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations as required
• Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and support staff on case management
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and records
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan
• 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm setting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Familiarity with court procedures and legal principles
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal research databases
