Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join its Finance Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex real estate finance transactions, including construction loans, structured financing, preferred equity investments, and distressed asset deals. The position is ideal for attorneys who have experience representing lenders, capital providers, or borrowers in commercial real estate transactions and are looking to work closely with partners and clients in a collaborative environment.

Location:

  • Baltimore, MD

Duties:

  • Represent institutional lenders, private equity funds, and other financial institutions in real estate finance matters

  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security instruments, and ancillary real estate financing documents

  • Advise clients on structuring and executing complex real estate debt and equity investments

  • Manage multi-tiered capital stack transactions and construction financing projects

  • Participate in transactions involving distressed assets and structured real estate investments

  • Conduct due diligence, including title and survey review

  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure successful closings

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of commercial real estate finance experience, preferably at an Am Law 100 firm

  • Demonstrated experience with both lender-side and/or borrower-side transactions

  • Experience with multi-layer capital transactions and complex real estate structures

  • Ability to handle multiple matters with varying complexity and scale

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in the state corresponding to the preferred office location (MD, PA, or CA)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Deep understanding of real estate finance structures

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication

  • Client-focused with a proactive, collaborative work style
