A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its Ocala, Florida office. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of workers’ compensation claims and be responsible for guiding clients through the complex legal process, ensuring their rights are protected, and working to secure favorable outcomes. Duties:

  • Open new client files and serve as the initial point of contact, ensuring a smooth intake process.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into each case, gathering relevant information and documents to build a strong foundation for claims.
  • Verify insurance coverage and assess liability issues while maintaining communication with insurance companies.
  • Coordinate with clients and medical providers to manage medical care, schedule appointments, and ensure all related procedures are understood.
  • Review medical records regularly to monitor case progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring they are prepared and ready for submission to demand writers or other legal professionals.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates and explaining legal processes clearly and empathetically.
  • Manage case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met and the client’s interests are safeguarded.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all client information and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout the legal process.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation law.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage a caseload in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, field associates, and other professionals.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
  • Ability to work on the phone for extended periods, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and client understanding.
  • Demonstrated reliability, with a strong record of consistent attendance and professional integrity.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Georgia Bar and eligibility to practice law in Florida.

Certifications:

  • Must be a licensed attorney in Georgia with eligibility to practice in Florida.
  • Admission to practice before the state and federal courts is required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation law, medical terminology, and insurance procedures.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal documents and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse client populations and legal teams.
  • Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology (preferred).
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
