Job Overview:
A dynamic and expanding law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join its legal team in Colorado. The ideal candidate will be passionate about defending the accused, committed to client outcomes, and comfortable managing a diverse and active caseload. This position involves handling felony, misdemeanor, and municipal cases, with a focus on litigation and client advocacy. The firm offers a collaborative work environment and the opportunity to gain courtroom experience throughout the state, particularly in the Denver Metro Area.

Location:

• Colorado Springs, CO

Duties:

• Represent clients in criminal defense matters across the state of Colorado

• Manage a caseload of 40–70 active felony, misdemeanor, and municipal cases

• Handle all aspects of criminal cases from arraignment through resolution or trial

• Engage in plea negotiations and trial litigation when necessary

• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other filings

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

• Attend hearings, trials, and meetings across jurisdictions within Colorado

• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff for case strategy

Requirements:

• 2–5 years of experience in criminal law

• Ability to manage a fluctuating and active caseload

• Passion for criminal defense and upholding constitutional rights

• Willingness to travel within the state for court appearances

• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom presence

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado

• In good standing with the Colorado Bar

Skills:

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Trial experience preferred, particularly in criminal matters

• Experience with sex crimes or juvenile cases is highly valued

• Bilingual (Spanish-English) skills are a plus

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
