Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts. They will be responsible for managing all phases of litigation, including strategy development, discovery, and court appearances.

Duties

• Develop and execute case strategy for complex litigation matters.
• Manage all phases of written and document discovery.
• Research and draft sophisticated pleadings and motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Appear for status conferences and hearings, and argue motions.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and case team members.
• Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.
• Prepare for trial and provide strategic guidance throughout litigation.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience managing significant aspects of litigation independently.
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with direct interaction with partners and clients.

Education

• JD from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Active member of the California Bar in good standing.
