Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Regulatory Associate Attorney to join its Litigation and Financial Regulatory practice in Charlotte, NC. This position focuses on federal banking regulatory matters, including compliance and policy matters, and will offer immediate client exposure, including international financial institutions. This is a strong opportunity for attorneys with 1–3 years of relevant experience to work alongside seasoned regulatory professionals in a collaborative and high-caliber practice group. Recruitment is conducted on behalf of the firm.

Location:

  • Charlotte, North Carolina

Duties:

  • Advise clients on financial regulatory and bank compliance matters

  • Collaborate with legal teams on individual and project-based regulatory assignments

  • Support regulatory investigations and enforcement actions in coordination with the firm’s government investigations practice

  • Work with international financial institutions, occasionally during their business hours

  • Contribute to firm-wide financial services and compliance initiatives

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, reports, and communications related to U.S. banking laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial regulation, banking compliance, or a related field

  • Prior experience with a law firm, financial institution, regulatory agency, or compliance firm is beneficial but not required

  • Strong interest in bank regulatory law and client advisory work

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar preferred

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  • Capacity to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality legal work

  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients, including international institutions
