Associate Attorney

Profile

Responsibilities:

• Professional and courteous interaction with clients and staff



• Handle negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, motions and trials



• Examine cases to determine case viability, insurance coverage, liability and damages



• Conduct medical and legal research



• Interview clients and witnesses



• Follow NC State Bar Rules and Ethics Opinions for disbursement of settlement funds



• Occasional travel is required

Qualifications:

• North Carolina State Bar member in good standing



• South Carolina State Bar member in good standing a plus



• 5-7 years of personal injury civil litigation experience (medical malpractice experience a plus)



• Must be able to work collaboratively as well as independently



• Possess highly developed negotiation and communication skills



• Strong attention to detail and accuracy



• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters



• Ability to analyze legal issues in and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters.
