Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its litigation group in Richmond, VA. This position offers a unique opportunity for a lateral associate to be part of a dynamic team in a growing location.

Duties

• Engage in pre-suit investigation through appeals as local, regional, and national counsel.
• Consult with companies on strategies for avoiding and minimizing litigation impact.
• Draft, respond to, and argue discovery and other motions.
• Take and defend depositions.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in commercial and/or complex litigation matters.
• Prior service as a federal court clerk is a plus.
• Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Solid understanding of procedural and substantive law.
• Adept in case management and ready to take the lead.
• Admitted in good standing to the Virginia Bar (required).

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Virginia Bar.
