Job Overview

This role involves managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution, providing vital legal support to clients while fostering growth within a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Oversee personal injury case files throughout the litigation process.
• Assess potential personal injury claims and offer legal counsel to clients.
• Draft, review, and amend various legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
• Research case law and premises liability; gather relevant evidence.
• Engage with clients, expert witnesses, and medical providers to obtain necessary information.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Represent clients in court, mediation, and depositions across California.
• Maintain updated case files in the case management system.
• Supervise a team of legal support staff, including paralegals and assistants.
• Manage a calendar of appointments and court deadlines in line with California procedures.
• Calculate costs and prepare settlement breakdowns for clients and insurers.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Licensed and admitted to practice in the California State Bar.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• California State Bar membership is required.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Proficient in case management systems (experience with CasePeer preferred).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
