Job Title: Mid/Senior-Level Projects Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly skilled mid to senior-level Projects Attorney with expertise in finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the development of energy and infrastructure projects. This role will focus on transactional legal matters related to large-scale energy projects, including both renewable and conventional power, energy, and infrastructure. The position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, with significant responsibilities and the potential for advancement in a dynamic legal environment. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Duties:

• Manage legal aspects of energy and infrastructure projects, including finance, M&A, and development.
• Advise on complex transactions related to renewable and conventional power, energy, and infrastructure.
• Draft and negotiate key documents such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), credit and security documentation, and purchase/sale and merger agreements.
• Lead closings for financing, acquisitions, and dispositions in the power, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to structure and execute major projects.
• Provide legal counsel on energy-related projects across a wide range of industries, including wind, solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, and renewable natural gas.
• Review and advise on project contracts, focusing on power purchase agreements and related supply and offtake agreements.
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the firm’s energy and infrastructure practice.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in energy, infrastructure, finance, and M&A.
• Proven experience in handling large-scale energy projects, including renewable energy, conventional power, and infrastructure.
• Expertise in credit and security documentation, mergers and acquisitions, and power purchase agreements.
• Strong ability to manage closings and negotiations for energy-related transactions.
• Experience working with project contracts, particularly in energy-related sectors.
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

• Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects.
• In-depth understanding of energy-related transactions, including project finance and M&A.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
