Corporate Counsel, Manufacturing
The candidate will serve as the “First Stop” and trusted advisor, thought leader and counsel to key manufacturing teams and provide advice and counsel in all areas of the business and all areas of law, including but not limited to manufacturing transactions, HR, IP, disputes, and litigation. Support, develop and implement a comprehensive global manufacturing contracting strategy for West. Serve as a manufacturing attorney, responsible for handling complex contracting transactions globally. Support a customer contracting strategy, including template development with a focus on risk mitigation, consistency and jurisdictional alignment. Prepare and negotiate agreements with the company’s key strategic partners and collaborators, major customer and supplier agreements and all M&A transactions in the client group; assists senior management in developing strategies regarding same. Assist with policy simplification, consolidation and client education related to manufacturing activities. Responsible for management and oversight of assigned litigation and disputes involving West, including without limitation manufacturing and quality claims, marketing and product-related regulatory compliance issues, advertising issues and disputes. Develop strategies for litigation and regulatory proceedings. Advise senior management on manufacturing-related press releases. Coordinate legal support for West’s business strategies and issues arising from West’s manufacturing activities, processes and related projects. Manage regulatory, advertising and marketing issues related to manufacturing engagement. Identify and create opportunities to increase productivity, and drive simplicity in legal operations and processes related to the manufacturing execution. Participate in Manufacturing Leadership Team meetings as deputy for Sr Director. Coordinate with outside counsel, where appropriate, and subject to budget considerations. Advise globally on confidentiality agreements and oversee execution and management process. Provide legal support to the business in other substantive areas of law as needed. Undertake special projects and duties as identified or assigned.
