Responsibilities: Gain courtroom experience in a variety of areas, including asserting and protecting crime victims’ rights, seeking post conviction relief for crimes clients were forced to commit while being trafficked, securing restraining orders, dissolution of marriage and advancing parental rights by obtaining child custody and visitation, and seeking immigration relief before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Providing trauma-informed, survivor-driven, client-centered legal support services. Conducting in-depth legal assessment with clients to identify legal forms of relief. Preparing and accompanying client to law enforcement interviews. Facilitating legal clinics and conducting community education and outreach to various stakeholders in the community. Representing Justice At Last at community, legal, funding and other meetings and functions. Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
