Duties:

• Handle defense of wage and hour litigation cases, emphasizing class actions.
• Conduct comprehensive research on California and federal wage and hour laws, staying updated on relevant legal developments.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery requests independently or with minimal supervision.
• Conduct depositions and participate in motions related to discovery disputes.
• Develop and implement discovery plans in coordination with legal team members.
• Draft persuasive legal documents, including opposing motions for class certification.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and legal strategies.
• Demonstrate professionalism and competence in addressing legal and strategic issues in wage and hour litigation matters.
• Ensure timely follow-through on all assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience focusing on defense of wage and hour litigation, preferably involving class actions.
• Proficient understanding of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime regulations and meal/rest period requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and responding to written discovery with limited supervision.
• Strong deposition and motion experience related to discovery issues.
• Proven ability to develop and execute effective discovery plans.
• Exceptional writing skills, particularly in crafting persuasive legal arguments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.
