Job Title: Employment Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm, located in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Employment Law Associate Attorney with 1-3+ years of experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected legal team focused on plaintiff-side employment law, civil litigation, and class action cases. The successful candidate will be involved in every aspect of the litigation process, from case inception to trial preparation. This position also provides significant growth potential, with the opportunity to handle trials independently in the future.

Duties:

• Manage the full spectrum of employment law litigation, including:
  • Drafting legal complaints and pleadings
  • Propounding and responding to discovery requests
  • Filing pre-trial motions and opposing summary judgment motions
  • Representing clients in mediations and court proceedings
  • Preparing cases for trial
• Assist with trial work, with the potential to eventually lead trials with your team
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Collaborate with senior trial attorneys and other team members

Requirements:

• Active membership in the California State Bar, or admission to another U.S. jurisdiction with pending California Bar admission
• 1-3+ years of experience in civil litigation, including substantial exposure to discovery, depositions, court appearances, and motion practice
• Prior experience in employment law or as defense counsel is preferred.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar License (California or pending)
