Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly-motivated Associate Attorney for its Milwaukee, WI office. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on general liability and/or insurance coverage. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team defending matters across the United States.

Duties

• Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.
• Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.
• Prepare and take depositions of parties and witnesses.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and status report correspondence.
• Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in Wisconsin state and federal courts.
• Experience in civil litigation, particularly in general liability and/or insurance coverage.
• Ability to manage multiple case files in a busy environment.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
