The candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 8,000 cases, covering the full range of establishment, modification, and enforcement functions. Coordinating with paralegals and staff to provide support services as needed for cases within the key split. Addressing legal questions from staff, participants, other agencies, and attorneys with respect to the cases in the key split and child support issues generally. Representing the State of Indiana in Title IV-D proceedings in the Circuit and Superior courts in Indiana, including preparing cases for court, managing the workflow during the court session, and follow-up responsibilities after the session has concluded. Responding to phone, email, fax, and letter inquiries from case participants, attorneys, and other agencies regarding cases in the assigned key split. Mastering the application of the Indiana Child Support Guidelines to fairly and accurately determine appropriate recommended child support orders. Mastering the statewide child support computer system and other applications needed to fully perform establishment, modification, and enforcement functions. Participating in various community events or meetings in order to meet and educate the public on the role of the Child Support Division of the County Prosecutor's Office and address individual questions or concerns when possible. Mastering important related subjects, including administrative law, bankruptcy, liens, probate, contract, forfeiture, and interstate laws to ensure appropriate actions are taken as needed. Drafting special pleadings and documents in Word as needed. Developing and maintaining collegial and effective relationships with all staff, courts, private attorneys, public defenders, and other agencies; honoring the Commitment to Civility as outlined in the local rules. Aide by all policies and procedures set forth in the firm's Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. Ensure that all work is completed in strict compliance with all applicable federal and state regulatory rules, laws and guidelines, including IRS Publication 1075. Other duties as assigned.
