Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate or Partner to join the General Liability practice group in Philadelphia, PA, with remote flexibility from New Jersey. The role involves managing a variety of general liability defense litigation matters primarily in New Jersey.

Duties

• Analyze complex legal and factual issues to prepare well-reasoned legal recommendations for clients.
• Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, and conduct depositions, arbitrations, and/or trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Travel locally for trials and court conferences, primarily in NJ and PA.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
• Active NJ bar license required.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel mostly in NJ for court or as necessary.
• Flexibility to work remotely from NJ, with occasional travel to NJ offices.
• Experience in drafting pleadings, answering written discovery, and conducting depositions and trials.
• Interest in liability defense, with preference for experience in motor vehicle and/or premises liability.
• For partner candidates, strong trial experience is preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active NJ bar license.
