A law firm seeks an Associate to join the Public Finance practice in Columbus, Ohio. This role is ideal for an attorney with at least one year of experience and a keen interest in public finance transactions. Duties

• Review, draft, and negotiate transaction documents.
• Draft organizational and authorizing documents.
• Manage transaction due diligence.
• Coordinate pre-closing and closing logistics.
• Ensure appropriate approvals are in place before transactions are executed.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in relevant areas of law.
• Commit to achieving the goals of firm clients.

Requirements

• Knowledge of municipal bond financing, real estate finance, or economic development transactions, or a strong desire to learn.
• Strong organizational and matter management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff.
• Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
• Desire to develop superior drafting and negotiating skills.
• Understanding of various business and governmental entities.

Education

• Admitted to practice in Ohio with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within the first year of employment.
