Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have experience in property/casualty insurance or subrogation matters and be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey. This role requires strong trial skills, knowledge of litigation procedures, and the ability to support a busy litigation team.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and analysis using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Assist with case management, organizing and maintaining case files.
• Prepare for and participate in client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
• Review and analyze documents, evidence, and witness statements.
• Negotiate settlements or participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bars of Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in legal administrative tasks, such as drafting correspondence and managing calendars.
• Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Prior experience in litigation is preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the state bars of Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey.
