Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Providence, RI is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 0-3 years of experience to handle a variety of civil litigation cases, including personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and business disputes. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of a case, from intake to settlement or trial, while communicating effectively with clients and drafting legal documents.

Duties:

• Participate in all aspects of a case, from intake to settlement or trial
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients throughout their case
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, and settlement demands
• Argue motions, including discovery and dispositive motions
• Research complex legal issues in preparation of memoranda and oral arguments

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA Accredited law school
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Member of the Rhode Island Bar
• Membership to the Massachusetts and/or Connecticut bars is a plus

Skills:

• Effective oral and written communication and advocacy
• Skilled in legal research and writing
• Outstanding organization, time management, and attention to detail

Experience:

0-3 years of experience handling civil litigation cases
