Duties

• Provide strategic patent counseling and portfolio management to clients in biotechnology, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering sectors

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and invalidity analyses

• Collaborate with clients to protect inventions and advise on IP strategies

• Support litigation and transactional IP matters when applicable

• Manage client relationships and develop new business opportunities

• Contribute to the firm’s collegial and collaborative culture

Requirements

• Significant experience in patent law with a focus on biotech, electrical, or mechanical technologies

• Portable book of business preferred

• Demonstrated record of success in IP client representation and prosecution

• Strong client service orientation and practical legal judgment

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Undergraduate or advanced degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering)

Certifications

• Active registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

• Admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing
