Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior Associate for the General Liability practice group in Peoria, IL. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, and will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to client service and professional growth.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials; some travel may be required.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in General Liability/Trucking/Transportation.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois; other states a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work in a team environment.
• Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois.
