Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its expanding litigation practice group in Omaha. The attorney will handle a variety of cases, including professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. The firm offers valuable trial and discovery experience, allowing the attorney to work with experienced partners in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense or civil litigation. Candidates with less experience will be considered based on qualifications.

Location:

• Omaha, NE

Duties:

• Handle litigation cases, including professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, and personal injury.
• Conduct legal research and writing.
• Manage cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate as first or second chair in civil jury trials.
• Collaborate with partners and other legal professionals on complex litigation matters.

Requirements:

• One year of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or general civil litigation.
• Experience with legal research, writing, and case management.
• Familiarity with conducting depositions.
• Trial experience, preferably as a first or second chair in civil jury trials.
• Candidates with less litigation experience may be considered based on qualifications.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active state bar membership (in good standing).

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, and professional negligence defense.
• Trial preparation and deposition experience.
