Profile
A law firm is searching for a seasoned litigator to take on a leadership role within its growing practice focused on large-scale harm and disaster-related class actions. The position offers a rare opportunity to help shape the legal response to environmental crises, such as wildfires, by representing entire communities and individuals affected by negligence or corporate misconduct. Designed for attorneys ready to handle serious, socially consequential litigation, this position provides meaningful work, significant responsibility, and remote work flexibility.
Lead and manage high-volume mass litigation, including environmental torts, class actions, and multi-district claims.
Direct case strategy from early investigation through resolution, including trial preparation, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
Oversee litigation teams and collaborate with co-counsel, experts, and client groups across jurisdictions.
Craft persuasive motions, briefs, and pleadings in complex, high-value cases.
Represent plaintiffs in environmental disaster litigation involving fires, toxic exposure, and utility-related harms.
Serve as the point of contact for clients, court officials, and partner organizations in coordinated litigation matters.
Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience with a focus on complex civil or tort cases.
Prior involvement in class action, mass tort, or environmental litigation strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases, legal teams, and procedural deadlines in large-scale matters.
Familiarity with federal and state court systems, including rules for group and multidistrict litigation.
Skilled in negotiating settlements and communicating effectively with impacted communities.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in California (or eligibility for prompt admission or reciprocity).
Strong leadership qualities and an aptitude for guiding legal teams through complex proceedings.
Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy capabilities.
Deep understanding of procedural rules, evidentiary standards, and the dynamics of public-impact litigation.
Empathy-driven and purpose-oriented, with a genuine commitment to community-level justice.
Ability to thrive in a non-traditional law firm environment—without billing quotas and with a mission-centered culture.
Employer-supported medical and dental insurance contributions.
401(k) retirement savings plan with firm match.
Short- and long-term disability insurance.
Full-time remote work is considered for qualified senior attorneys.
Chance to be part of a national movement holding corporate actors accountable for environmental harm.
