An expanding law firm in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to enhance its criminal law practice. This position involves managing client matters related to serious criminal offenses and traffic cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law and a commitment to advocating for clients in the Baltimore area.

Duties:

• Interview and retain prospective clients
• Negotiate plea deals on behalf of clients
• Manage the workload of paralegals and support staff
• Meet established legal revenue production requirements
• Litigate cases in district and circuit courts

Requirements:

• Actively licensed to practice law in Maryland
• Minimum of 3 years of experience handling criminal matters
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Maryland State Bar Association

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with confidential information
• Capability to handle complex legal tasks requiring significant judgment and reasoning
• Proficiency in Google Office Suite and other relevant software
