Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate, Counsel, or Income Partner to join its Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice in Lake Forest, IL. The role involves working with partners on significant multi-line and multi-generational client matters, advising family offices, and developing sophisticated planning strategies.

Duties

• Advise family offices and closely-held business owners.
• Develop and implement lifetime and testamentary planning strategies.
• Manage and supervise tax implications research and client communications.
• Second chair large matters and independently manage other cases.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and business networks.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing in the practicing jurisdiction.
• Experience managing client projects from inception to conclusion.
• Strong understanding of income, fiduciary, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage client projects and supervise junior attorneys.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the practicing jurisdiction.
