Profile

A law firm seeks a talented and dedicated Labor & Employment Associate to join its Orange County office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 2-6 years of experience in labor and employment law. The firm offers a collaborative, supportive work environment with opportunities to represent a wide range of clients across various industries. The role provides exposure to complex legal matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, and more, with a focus on both individual and class action cases. A hybrid work schedule is available, allowing for both in-office and remote work flexibility.

Duties:

  • Represent employers in labor and employment matters, including but not limited to wage and hour disputes, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation claims, and employee accommodations.
  • Manage both individual and class action cases, including PAGA claims, focusing on resolving disputes and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Provide legal counsel on employment agreements, personnel policies, and other workplace-related issues.
  • Conduct legal research and draft clear, persuasive legal documents, including motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, and mediations, as well as work closely with clients to develop strategies for addressing employment issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure timely and efficient case management and resolution.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in labor and employment law, with specific experience in wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent writing and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to case management.
  • Desire to take ownership of cases and actively contribute to the growth of the firm's labor and employment practice.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of California labor and employment law, including wage and hour regulations, discrimination laws, and workplace accommodations.
  • Experience with class action lawsuits, including PAGA claims.
  • Strong research, writing, and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues.
  • Excellent client management skills, with a focus on providing practical legal solutions.
  • Proficient with legal research tools and case management software.
