Duties:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into immigration cases, including fact-finding, evidence-gathering, and interviewing witnesses.
  • Interpret and apply relevant immigration laws and precedents to develop effective case strategies.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Handle motion practice, including filing and arguing motions to resolve legal issues before trial.
  • Organize trial evidence, prepare witnesses, and develop trial strategies for court hearings and proceedings.
  • Represent clients in court, presenting arguments and evidence.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, addressing their immigration-related concerns and building strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Leverage technology to document, manage, and update case information and communications.
  • Regularly update management on case status through formal reports and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear arguments to judges, juries, and opposing counsel.
  • 1 year of experience in immigration law is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with a focus on identifying legal issues and applying relevant laws.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, particularly in dealing with federal agencies and settlements.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tight deadlines effectively.
  • Growth mindset, with a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (Required).

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar license (Required).

Skills:

  • Immigration law expertise (preferred).
  • Legal case management experience (preferred).
  • Bilingual (a plus).
