Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate in San Francisco, California. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement or remote work opportunities. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced attorneys handling cases in California and throughout the US, working with both domestic and foreign insurers.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters.
• Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on various subjects.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the state of California.
• 2-8 years of defense litigation experience.
• 1+ years of coverage/coverage litigation experience.
• Experience in insurance coverage, including drafting coverage opinions.
• Experience in third-party or first-party claims preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required.
• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred.
• Trial experience a plus.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice in California.
