Duties:

• Represent clients in workers' compensation cases
• Investigate case facts and develop evidence related to damages
• Analyze potential case outcomes using legal knowledge and experience
• Gather evidence by interviewing clients, witnesses, and reviewing case files
• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance representatives
• Prepare and attend depositions, mediations, and hearings
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to workers' compensation claims
• Examine legal data to determine the advisability of filing lawsuits
• Prepare legal documents, briefs, and opinions; file appeals as necessary
• Maintain communication and positive relationships with clients, opposing attorneys, court personnel, and insurance representatives
• Collaborate with the internal team to accomplish firm goals and exceed client expectations

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Iowa Bar
• Proven experience in workers' compensation law
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, rulings, and regulations
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Iowa (Iowa Bar Admission)
