Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Technology Transactions Associate with 2 to 4 years of experience to join its Technology Transactions team in Austin, Texas. The position focuses on advising life sciences and technology companies on intellectual property and commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, licensing, emerging company matters, and the technology aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and venture capital financings.

Duties:

• Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, licensing, partnering, and other commercial agreements
• Advise life sciences and technology companies on product strategy, development, and commercialization matters
• Counsel clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, and technology licensing arrangements
• Support emerging companies and venture capital-backed clients on technology transactions
• Advise on intellectual property and technology aspects of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and venture capital financings
• Conduct legal research and analysis involving emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, fintech, autonomous vehicles, edtech, renewable energy, augmented and virtual reality, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital health
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on sophisticated technology and intellectual property matters

Requirements:

• 2 to 4 years of legal experience in intellectual property and technology transactions
• Experience handling technology transactions in connection with mergers and acquisitions and emerging company or venture capital matters
• Strong interest in advising technology and life sciences companies
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Strong commitment to client service and professional excellence

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the state bar of the office location
