Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Family Law Attorney to join their Newburyport, MA office. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex family law matters, developing their own caseload and litigation skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce and custody disputes.
• Manage a growing caseload appropriate to experience level.
• Support partners and senior attorneys in complex litigation.
• Prepare for and appear at court hearings and other proceedings.
• Perform legal research and draft legal documents.
• Develop case strategy in collaboration with supervising attorneys.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants.
• Provide compassionate legal counsel to clients.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.
• Zero to four years of legal experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work in the Boston office part-time.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts
