Duties

• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
• Analyze patents and scientific papers to assist patent attorneys.
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
• Participate in post-grant procedures at the USPTO.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in patent practice.
• Ph.D. or M.D. with research experience in relevant fields.
• Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Broad scientific knowledge in biotechnology.
• Initiative and ability to work well with others.
• Registered USPTO patent agent or eligible for registration.

Education

• Ph.D. or M.D. in Cellular & Molecular Biology, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field.

Certifications

• USPTO patent agent registration or eligibility to sit for the exam.
