McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan has an immediate opening for a mid-level paralegal/legal assistant with strong experience in Wills/Probate, Trusts & Estate Planning (corporate/transactional experience helpful, but not necessary). Candidates must be VERY proficient technically including: Word, Outlook, Excel, and have familiarity with the practice areas and a thorough understanding of the terminology, process, and documents that are involved. Personal characteristics we value: meticulous attention to detail, very organized, reliable, committed, effective communicator, adaptable, proactive, positive approach to challenges and perform with sense of urgency. This role also meets regularly with clients. Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also a team player. Other duties are to provide back-up support as needed and assist in the weekly rotation of front desk coverage.
Candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience with a B.A or Associate Degree preferably and Paralegal certificate is a plus. Hours are 8:30am-5:30pm in the office, with some flexibility.
