A well-established law firm in Tustin, CA, is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This role involves handling a diverse range of civil litigation matters, with a focus on defense cases and some plaintiff representation. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, trial experience, and the ability to manage cases independently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Manage a heavy caseload involving civil litigation matters, including defense and limited plaintiff work.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare motions.
• Handle discovery, including propounding and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.
• Represent clients in court, including motion hearings, pre-trial proceedings, and jury trials.
• Negotiate settlements and provide strategic legal counsel to clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies.
• Appear in various courts across California, including Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego counties.

Requirements

• Ability to handle all aspects of trial preparation, including depositions (expert and PMK), motion practice, and trial strategy.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with courts, opposing counsel, and clients.
• Experience handling civil litigation matters, including breach of contract, employment law, real estate law, and construction defect cases.
• Familiarity with family law is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of cases efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
