A reputable midsize law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Trial & Litigation Attorney to join its team, with positions available in Los Angeles or Oakland, CA. This role involves managing high-profile cases in areas such as constitutional law, civil rights, eminent domain, and other complex litigation. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in litigation, particularly with high-impact matters, and will thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Duties

  • Lead litigation cases through all phases, from initial pleadings to discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and appeals in both federal and state courts.
  • Develop and execute strategic litigation plans, with a focus on complex cases involving constitutional law, eminent domain, and crisis litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare dispositive motions, and present arguments persuasively in court.
  • Build cases for trial, which includes gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and managing depositions.
  • Collaborate across offices to enhance the firm's litigation practice and support client success.
  • Handle high-stakes matters involving public and private sector clients in areas like civil rights and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on complex cases and law and motion practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in federal and state court proceedings, including dispositive motions.
  • Strong research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across multiple offices.
  • Experience in eminent domain or representing public entities is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California (required).

  • Expertise in managing complex litigation and trial preparation.
  • Exceptional writing and oral communication skills, with a focus on persuasive argumentation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes cases.
