A law firm seeks a versatile attorney with proven trial experience and a strong background in real estate, construction, and business law in Fort Worth, TX. The successful candidate will lead litigation matters ranging from straightforward to complex controversies and occasionally handle transactional matters, providing comprehensive legal support for development, construction, contract, and property-related disputes and transactions.

Duties

  • Manage complex contract, property, construction defect, and general liability disputes from inception through trial.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and settlement documents.
  • Represent clients in arbitrations and court proceedings.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness examination, evidence presentation, and oral arguments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, conveyance documents, leases, purchase agreements, and development documents.
  • Perform due diligence for real estate acquisitions and development projects.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, land use, zoning, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member of the State Bar of Texas in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate and construction law, with lead trial/courtroom experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, codes, and processes preferred.

Education

  • Doctor of Law

Certifications

  • Active member of the State Bar of Texas
