Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to manage a diverse caseload and represent clients with professionalism and integrity. This role involves handling cases from initial evaluation through to resolution, supporting team members, and engaging with clients and external partners to achieve optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in litigation, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to client-centered service.

Duties

• Evaluate and manage cases to ensure favorable outcomes for clients
• Conduct timely communications with clients, vendors, and opposing counsel
• Build and maintain positive client relationships and manage budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Draft and file pleadings, conduct discovery, and perform factual investigations
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare for hearings and trials
• Interview clients and witnesses, and prepare and conduct depositions
• Select and manage expert witnesses as needed
• Supervise paralegals and other support staff, ensuring efficient task delegation
• Enter and track billable hours and manage time effectively to meet targets
• Stay updated on legal developments by participating in CLE and professional training
• Collaborate within a team while demonstrating a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct

Requirements

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the legal industry preferred, though not required
• Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of documents
• Physical Abilities: Able to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs; prolonged computer use and occasional driving may be required

Education

• Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Bar Admission: Active membership in the Delaware State Bar, maintaining good standing
