A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury cases to join their team in Stockton, California. This full-time, on-site position involves managing personal injury case files from inception to resolution, providing legal advice, and representing clients in various legal proceedings throughout California.

Duties

• Handle personal injury case files from start to finish, managing a full caseload.
• Evaluate potential personal injury claims and advise prospective clients.
• Draft, review, and modify legal documents including claims, motions, and pleadings.
• Research case law and gather relevant evidence, with preferred experience using Westlaw.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and insurance adjusters to gather information.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Make court appearances and attend mediations, depositions, and trials statewide.
• Document and update case statuses in the case management system, preferably CasePeer.
• Manage a team of paralegals, legal assistants, and other support staff.
• Track work calendar and court deadlines according to the California Code of Civil Procedure.
• Calculate costs and compensation for settlement presentations.

Requirements

• JD, licensed and admitted to the California State Bar.
• 1-5 years of experience in Plaintiff Personal Injury preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in case management software, preferably CasePeer.
• Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
