A well-established law firm in the Scottsville, VA area is seeking an experienced attorney to join their litigation team. This position offers flexible work arrangements, including both hybrid and in-office options. The ideal candidate will have solid litigation experience and be capable of representing clients in court. The role provides access to malpractice insurance and Lexis Nexis, along with a flexible compensation structure that adjusts based on availability and preferences.

Duties:

• Represent clients in general litigation cases, including court appearances.

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.

• Negotiate settlements and provide legal advice to clients.

• Collaborate with other legal professionals in case strategy and execution.

• Manage case files, ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met.

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in general litigation.

• Ability to make court appearances and manage litigation cases independently.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

• Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

• Virginia law license (or pending).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Virginia State Bar membership (or pending).

Skills:

• Litigation and trial experience.

• Legal research and writing.

• Case management and client interaction.

• Negotiation and settlement expertise.

• Familiarity with legal tools, including Lexis Nexis.
