A well-established law firm located in Champaign, IL is seeking a driven and empathetic Associate Attorney to join its family law division. The selected candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive legal support to individuals navigating complex personal legal matters. Duties:

• Handle a broad range of family law issues including divorce, parentage, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and property division

• Represent clients in court proceedings such as hearings and trials

• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, court orders, motions, and discovery materials

• Provide legal advice to clients on their rights, responsibilities, and options

• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies

• Interview clients and witnesses to gather facts and evidence

• Collaborate with legal support staff and other attorneys on case development and execution

• Maintain organized case files and ensure timely progression of matters

• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediation, and settlement conferences

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for admission

• 3 years of experience in family law or litigation preferred

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Excellent time management and organizational abilities

• Capable of working both independently and within a team

• Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and ethical integrity

• Passion for serving clients and finding effective legal solutions

• Interest in building a long-term legal career in Central Illinois

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois Bar (or ability to obtain admission)

Skills:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion
