A law firm seeks a skilled Litigation Associate to join its team in Lexington, KY, or Louisville, KY. Duties:
Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide detailed analysis to support litigation strategies.
Draft pleadings, motions, and other critical legal documents with accuracy and clarity.
Oversee various aspects of intricate litigation cases under appropriate supervision.
Assist in crafting case strategies and contribute valuable insights to legal teams.
Maintain open and effective communication with clients, offering legal counsel and updates.
Participate in business development initiatives, including legal research, writing, and presentations.
Ensure adherence to procedural rules and filing regulations.
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience handling business or tort litigation.
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet critical deadlines efficiently.
Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships.
Willingness to participate in professional networking and business development activities.
Some travel may be required, including potential overnight stays.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with the Kentucky State Bar.
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in Kentucky is required.
Additional state bar admissions are advantageous.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF applications.
Familiarity with e-discovery processes and litigation technology.
Strong understanding of appellate brief formatting and citation rules.
Ability to prepare deposition summaries and maintain organized document indices.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong time management skills to meet billable hour requirements.
