A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team in San Diego, CA. This hybrid role focuses on deportation and asylum matters, offering the opportunity to lead and develop the firm's immigration practice.

Duties

• Represent clients in removal proceedings, including asylum and CAT applications.
• Prepare filings for immigration court and USCIS, including motions and briefs.
• Conduct client interviews and manage supporting documentation.
• Attend hearings and bond proceedings.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external partners.
• Track case deadlines and manage a full caseload efficiently.
• Stay informed on immigration law and policy changes.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 5+ years of experience in immigration law.
• Experience representing clients before EOIR and USCIS.
• Strong writing, advocacy, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with family-based petitions and humanitarian relief preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.
