Spring Internship

The Congressional internship offers a valuable learning experience for interns to see how a Congressional office functions at both the local and national level and to explore a career in government. Duties include: greeting visitors at the front desk and answering phones; attending briefings and hearings for staff and write memos; assisting in various constituent casework and District-based projects of importance; helping with letter drafting and processing of constituent correspondence; occasionally leading tours of the US Capitol Building for visitors; and learning the legislative process by working in the midst of it. Office hours are flexible to accommodate the schedules of each individual intern, but are generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
